YA should have more of these characters.Īnother thing I liked is how in book two the story takes us exploring through Sempera. Liam was and continued to be his own person taking the decisions he wanted to take, and not because of the pretty girl. He didn’t grew out to be just a pretty love interest, in fact, there wasn’t a lot of romance at all. Something really strong in this sequel is Liam Gerling’s character development. I always liked the ideas of past lives and I really enjoyed how Jules is exploring hers. In both books the protagonist is learning about herself and her past, though for different reasons: In book one she tried to re-explore her childhood and her childhood home, whilst in book two she takes the journey to learn more about her past as the Alchemist. I absolutely loved this sequel and conclusion in the Everless series. I always try to write spoiler free or just really small spoilers, but this one was a little hard to do without spoilers.

If you plan to read this duology or haven’t finished book one yet, I would advise you to read my review of book one instead. To properly explain myself, this review might contain MAJOR SPOILERS for book one.

”Seize the day, Jules, before it seizes you first.” ★★★★✩ ½
